What is a contract of carriage

A contract of carriage is the rules that an airlines imposes on its passengers. There are many that you may not know about. I am only referring to one airline, but most have very similar rules. And, trust me; they do not favor the passenger. Most of them start off giving a long list of definitions. You need to speak legalese to understand most of the terminology. I am sure that you know that an airline can refuse you service. Here are some of the reasons: 1. If you are barefoot 2. If you have a malodorous condition 3. If you are unable to sit in a seat with the seatbelt fastened The airline can also charge for excess amount of bags or excess weight. You need to check with the airlines, but most only allow 2 checked-in bags and one carry-on. Weight limits differ, so check before you go. Otherwise, it may cost you big bucks. You also need to check for items that are not normal luggage. These would be items like golf bags, fishing equipment, antlers, hockey equipment and other odd items. Musical instruments, weapons, and scuba diving equipment may cost you more too. You might also want to check and see how much the airline is liable for if your bag is lost. Check and see how much the airline will reimburse for damaged luggage also. A very important section to check is what the airline will do for you if the flight is delayed. You may be surprised. If your flight is delayed or canceled, consider yourself alone on an island. If it is the airline's fault, you may get some compensation if you make enough noise. But if it is categorized a force majeure, you will basically get nothing. This is if the flight is canceled or delayed because of weather, riots, strikes, or anything beyond the airline's control. You can try to get placed on another flight or get compensation. Persistence pays and if you are adamant enough, you may get what you want. Be aware that the airlines are allowed to overbook their flights. So if each and every person that is booked shows up there may not be enough seats for everyone. You could get bumped. So, what do you do if you don’t get satisfaction? You insist that you get put on another airline. You insist that you be compensated. Being persistent, not giving in, and insisting that you are a valued customer that needs to be taken care of, may get you what you deserve. Check the airline's web site and look for the legal tab. Find the contract of carriage and check the one that pertains – either domestic or international. Know your rights and learn how the airlines are not there to provide a service if they can avoid it.

Major league baseball wagering part ii

In Part I of Major League Baseball Wagering, we discussed many of the basic principles regarding betting, and we considered simple wagers that you could make. We learned how to read game lines and looked at some examples of typical and popular wagering opportunities. We now know how to use this information to intelligently wager on Major League Baseball (MLB). Now we’re going to take a look at more complicated types of wagering, including MLB futures, parlays, multiples, round robins and teasers. MLB futures are appropriately named. You are betting on something that is fairly far down the road. A typical futures wager would be putting money down in May on which team will win the American League pennant or which two clubs will play in the World Series. Futures bets are placed on an outcome and not a single game and typically that outcome will not be decided tomorrow or the next day. You may make a futures wager that the Yankees will win the AL East when they are three games up with four to go in the regular season, but such a bet isn’t going to have a very big payoff. The point is that with futures you can generally get much higher odds prior to the start of or early in the season when the outcome is difficult to determine. When the result starts to become clear or fairly certain, odds begin to even out. Parlays are multiple bets placed with a single wager. You have to win them all, or most of them in some special cases, in order to collect. Single parlays are defined as multiple bets within the same sport. A single multiple or single parlay is defined as where, in order to win the wager, all selected bets within the combined bet parlay must win. Some define single parlays and "multiples" differently, so don’t assume that every sportsbook will use the same terminology to refer to parlays. Research the site’s betting rules and policies before wagering. By combining bets into a parlay, you can increase your possible winnings, but keep in mind that these aren’t easy to hit. Many sportsbook sites have restrictions on what you can combine, and how you can combine them. For example, some sites won’t allow a pay-off on "related" wagering. If you wager the Cubs to win outright in a game and also wager they will win 2 - 0 (exact score), you may only be able to collect on one of these, because they are related. The Cubs winning by 2 - 0 also means they win. If you had a parlay formed in this way, it may not only pay on only one of the two, but the bet may be declassified from a parlay to a straight bet, which further decreases the winnings. Single sport parlays generally give two to two-and-a-half to one on a single sport parlay double; two bets within the same sport, yet unrelated. A single sport parlay triple, which is three bets parlayed into one wager, generally pays approximately six to one. Multiple parlays, also known as all ups and accumulators, are classified as multiples or multiple bet options. This simply means that the parlay classified as a multiple always combines picks from two or more different sports. By selecting two or more single bets from two or more different sports, and then combining them, you create a multiple wager. The beauty of this type of wager is that you can get high odds on your possible return. Keep in mind, the odds are high for a reason. The outcomes aren’t easy to predict. A round robin, or boxed multiple, is another way to wager on a number of events, or several outcomes of the same event at one time. With this type of single ticket wager, you "box" several contests or outcomes. Thus, you are wagering that at least some of your chosen combinations will beat the odds. You can actually "box" all possible combinations in some cases. If at least two of your multiple combinations win, you win. With a boxed multiple, you must think about the most likely combinations that could produce at least two, preferably more, correct outcomes. For example, you wouldn’t want to box exact score on the Padres versus Giants game in nine different combinations because it is only possible for one of the exact scores to be correct. With a boxed multiple, the more combinations you choose correctly, the higher the return. In this case, one multiple wager can produce a larger than usual dividend on your investment. Again, as in parlays, and for baseball wagering, beware of related wagers and policies surrounding your boxed multiple choices. Teasers are multiple selections of two or more outcomes on a single event. Every sport has its own point range and rules for teasers, but generally speaking, the point totals are varied in a way that may favor the bettor. For example, if you are looking at possibly placing a wager on an over/under on total runs scored in the Red Sox vs. Yankees game, you may want to consider going with a teaser instead. If the straight bet over/under line is 6, you can move the line on a teaser higher or lower, depending on what is offered and your prediction. Teasers can also function on point spreads to possibly give the bettor an advantage. Usually the point spread is decreased for the favorite or increased for the underdog. Generally, a more favorable wager will cost you more, but it can dramatically increase your chances of winning. Wagering on MLB is akin to an art. No one has a crystal ball when it comes to wagering, but there are predictions that can be made correctly based on experience, information and logic. If you want to get beyond the single straight bet mode of wagering, think about why you would choose a particular straight bet. Extend your logic and expectations from there. If you predict a win for the Diamondbacks against the Dodgers and you feel they will beat the spread, ask yourself why. Is it because of the starting pitchers? Possibly you’re basing your prediction on recent run totals that have been tallied against similar teams? When you start analyzing the reasons a straight bet makes sense, you can start to see how this information can be efficiently used to place wagers on MLB futures, parlays, multiples, round robins and teasers.

The yankees red sox rivalry qualifies under both of these categories

A New York-Boston bout is the greatest feud in all of sports. No other match up in professional sports offers as much history, hostility, and competition as when the Yanks and Sox assemble and prepare to battle. Where else can you see a 73-year-old coach thrown to the ground by the opposing team’s ace pitcher? The only place to catch such action and intensity is in the Bronx or at Fenway Park. The New York-Boston hatred is unmatched in professional sports and is something baseball needs to survive in an era marked by an asterisk. During a time in baseball in which many spectators are left feeling bamboozled due to accusations of performance enhancing drug use, the sport needs something to pull itself out of the gutter. The one thing that can revive America’s hallmark pastime is the grudge match between the “Evil Empire” and the formerly cursed BoSox. Whether it be George Steinbrenner calling out his own club or the opposing Sox, you can guarantee that whatever the outcome is, it will be historic. Anytime these two teams meet for an American League East war, the fire starts to rekindle in fan’s eyes. No other duel in sports has created such abhorrence between two cities as the Yankees and Red Sox have. No other rivalry has been a catalyst for causing two members of the grounds crew to jump into the visiting bullpen to try to take on Jeff Nelson and Karim Garcia as we have seen in the 2003 ALCS at Fenway Park. The Yankees and Red Sox have an historic, and at the same time, a maniacal, relationship. The bitter vengeance between these two teams is something that needs to be present in order for baseball to survive. Every person in America is sick of hearing about Barry Bonds, BALCO, and every other mind numbing steroid allegation that has been regurgitated over and over again in the past few months. Yankees-Red Sox games are the perfect way for fans to regain appreciation for the sport by recognizing the great history between the two teams. Even in May, when games do not carry as much weight as they do at the end of the season, New York against Boston is a big deal. Early season match ups between the two teams always pressure players into bringing their ‘A game’ to the ballpark and allow fans of the respective cities to gain bragging rights. There are other great rivalries all throughout sports, but none of them contain the gusto and all pale in comparison to the zeal that is brought to the table when Joe Torre’s squad goes up against Terry Francona’s. No other rivalry has as rich a history and deep disdain as the saga that is brought on when Bean-town comes to the Bronx or vice versa, and quite frankly, there never will be another rivalry that is half as great. Odds on the Yankees to win this week’s series were 5/8 @ WagerWeb

Laughter use it to pick up women

Humour, some say, is the fruit of life, and this is especially true when it comes to picking up on a girl no matter where the location. Make them laugh, and I guarantee, that you are very close to getting their phone number and even to getting them to go out with you. But, as we all know, making them laugh, is easier said than done. Precisely for those who find it difficult to come up with something funny to say, I am adding some funny anecdotes and wise cracks that you can memorize and then use in those situations where you need to get the girl in front of you to laugh. 1) The Prescription: Did you hear of the lady, who walked into the pharmacist and asked for arsenic? The man behind the counter asked in wonder, "What do you need that for? The lady calmly replied," to kill my husband." The pharmacist was taken aback," Are you crazy? Do you want to get us both into jail? And, anyway, why do you want to kill him? Go to a counselor. Get help for your marriage." The lady paused and from her purse she removed a set of pictures of her husband and the wife of the pharmacist in some very creative postures. The pharmacist looked at the snaps, put them down and smiled," lady, why did you not tell me that you have a prescription?" 2) The Tip Book A wife calls out to her husband, "Have you seen the book, 101 Tips to Live for More Than a Hundred Years? The husband sheepishly replies, "I burnt it." "What?" the wife shouted out," why?" The husband whispered back," Because your mother wanted to read it." 3) Range of Food Looking at his wife fry meat balls in all kinds of shapes and sizes, Tom tapped her on the shoulder, "Why?" His wife turned," Because you asked for a variety of food." 4) Mushrooms Tom was picking mushrooms from the forest floor with his wife, when she picked up one and showed it to Tom," Is this for eating?" Tom smiled," Yes. As long as you do not cook it." 5) Driving Around Tom greeted his wife when she returned home," So, my dear, how was your first time driving all alone?" His wife smiled coyly, "Do you want to hear it from me or read about it in the papers? 6) Drama A couple are watching a film in their local theater when the wife snuggles close to her husband and points to the screen," Do you think that they will get married in the end?" The husband sighs," Yes. These movies always have bad endings." 7) The Library Tom visited the local library, walks up to the librarian and asks, "Do you know where I can find the book, the Supremacy of Men over Women?" The librarian conducts a short search on the computer and looks up," you will be able to find it in the science fiction." Conclusion: While some of these might sound offensive, if you use them well you will be able to display not just a sense of humour, but also that you are exactly the opposite of the stereotype. How? Immediately, after you done, lean over and whisper, But I am not like that, and if you allow me to take you out, you will see that for yourself.

The winner arrived to the indy japan 300

The Indy Japan 300 has a new champion. After Dan Wheldon monopolized the championship for the last two years, a new winner has raised: Helio Castroneves. The pilot claimed his second straight win of the season on the IndyCar Series. The first one was the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. Dan Wheldon was on the run towards becoming the first IndyCar Series pilot to triumph three straight years at the same track, but it just wouldn’t happen because Castroneves had different plans. This is the first time Castroneves wins in Japan. He stood out from the other drivers during the 200 lap race. By the moment he crossed the finish line last year’s champion: Dan Wheldon was 6.3851 seconds away. When Castroneves assured his victory, he got out of his strong Dallara car, and with his own traditional celebration, he climbed the fence to show everyone he had won at the 1.5-mile Twin Ring Motegi circuit north of Tokyo. The 93 points that the pilot had accumulated during the IRL championship worked out just fine for him as he got to start the race from the pole position. This, but most of all his driving skills helped him to lead for 184 laps and finally obtain the victory over all the other pilots.

How to keep predator fish

: Many people like to have fish for pets because they are low maintenance, and can be very relaxing to watch them swim. Most first time fish enthusiast like to keep cold water fish, because they are cheap and most of the different types of these fish will get along together. These fish have some bright colors and have some very fancy fins, but they are mostly large goldfish, and eventually switch to tropical fish to get a larger selection of fish. But keeping tropical fish can be a bit of a gamble, the fish cost more and some of them are very aggressive and will eat your other fish. There are more different types of tropical fish for you to choose from, and they have a larger variety of colors then cold water fish and keeping them in an aquarium together with other tropical fish does not have to be a gamble, it is not like a trip to the casino to play blackjack, if you do things right there is no gambling involved at all. The first thing you need to do is some reading before purchasing any fish for your tank. Reading about fish will give you an idea of what species of fish eat other fish, and which ones do not. It will also let you know which meat eating fish will live with what other fish, and make it less of a gamble that you are just buying one fish an expensive meal. Cichlids are a type of fish that eat other fish but they are a school fish and prefer to be in a tank with other Cichlids, but you want all the other Cichlids to be about the same size, or one day you will come home from a day of playing the most Popular Casino Games in the casino to find several fish missing and one fat fish swimming around slowly. Cichlids are a surface to medium depth fish. This means they will swim on the top and middle of the tank and will generally not go to the bottom of the tank for very long. So many people with Cichlids will get a bottom swimmer to fill the tank out. A very popular type of bottom swimmers is catfish. There are many different fish in the species of catfish. Some of these fish are non aggressive and do not get very big, but a fish like this may not be aggressive enough to be in a tank of Cichlids. You may want to get a more aggressive type of catfish, but if you get a large one it will surely eat the Cichlids, but if it too small you are gambling that the Cichlids will not pick its eyes out. Just remember that no matter how much you read each fish does have a personality of their own and no matter how much you read that one fish will be friendly with another it putting them in an Aquarium together is gambling. There is always the possibility that some of your fish will get eaten, but the only way to make keeping fish not a gamble is to keep each fish in their own separate fish tank in the hope that this will keep them all safe, but this will not make for happy fish. With trial and error you will learn what can live with what types of fish and save the gambling for Las Vegas casinos.
